Durham currently have one senior county team who compete in the Badminton England Senior County Championships.
2023/24 Season
Durham competed in Division 3 North of the Senior County Championships for the 2023/24 season where they faced Northumberland 2nds, Cumbria, Lothian 2nds, Nottinghamshire 3rds, Isle of Man 2nds & Lancashire 4ths.
The team were in action on Saturday 11th November 2023 where they faced Cumbria & Lothian 2nds. They lost 7-4 to Cumbria (with 9 of the 11 matches going to 3 ends!) then claimed an impressive 9-2 win over Lothian 2nds! The team competed again on Saturday 20th January 2024 where they only had one match against Nottinghamshire 3rds (as Derbyshire 2nds withdrew from the league) and claimed an excellent 10-1 win! Durham’s last matches of the season were on Saturday 23rd March & Sunday 24th March 2024 against Northumberland 2nds, Isle of Man 2nds & Lancashire 4ths. The team faced Northumberland 2nds in their first match, claiming a very close 6-5 win then lost 8-3 in their next match, against Isle of Man 2nds. The team’s final match was against Lancashire 4ths to determine which team would gain promotion to Division 2 North. Durham needed to win the match 7-4 (or better) to gain promotion and, although they won the match, the score was 6-5 so Durham finished in 3rd place and will compete again in Division 3 North for the 2024/25 season.

2022/23 Season
Durham competed in Division 2 North of the Senior County Championships for the 2022/23 season.
In the first round of matches, played on Saturday 12th November, Durham were in action at Concord Sports Centre in Sheffield where they had two losses against strong opposition – they lost 8-2 to Lancashire 3rd team and 9-2 to Yorkshire 4th team. The second round of matches were played at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on Saturday 21st January where Durham faced Cheshire 2nd team and Lothian 2nd team. They lost 7-4 to Cheshire but claimed a great 9-2 win over Lothian! The final matches of the season were played on Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th March at The Dolphin Centre in Darlington. It was a tough weekend for Durham as they faced top of the table Nottinghamshire 2nd team & a strong Isle of Man team. They lost 10-1 to Nottinghamshire 2nds and also lost 9-2 to Isle of Man. The final match of the season saw Durham face Yorkshire 5th team, who were one point above Durham in the league, and both teams were playing to avoid relegation. After a very close match, Durham narrowly lost 6-5 so will be relegated (along with Lothian 2nd team) and will compete in Division 3 North during the 2023/24 season.

2021/22 Season
In the 2021/22 season, Durham competed in Division 2 North of the Senior County Championships, with all matches being played at York Railway Institute. In the first round of matches, which were played on Saturday 15th January, Durham claimed an impressive 10-1 win over Cumbria and narrowly lost 6-5 to Cheshire 2. The second round of matches were played on Saturday 12th February where Durham lost 8-3 to Lanchashire 2 but gained a good 8-3 win over Yorkshire 5. The final matches of the season were played on Saturday 26th March & Sunday 27th March where Durham lost 8-3 to Yorkshire 4, won 7-4 against Cheshire 3 then lost 7-4 to Lancashire 3. This means that Durham finish the season in 4th place in Division 2 North.

2020/21 Season
The 2020/21 season did not go ahead due to the COVID pandemic.
2019/20 Season
During the 2019/20 season, Durham competed in Division 2 North of the Senior County Championships where they played matches against Cheshire 2 (lost 9-2), Lanchashire 3 (lost 7-4), Yorkshire 4 (lost 9-2) & Yorkshire 5 (lost 7-4). They were due to play Lothian, Cumbria & Lancashire 2 on the final weekend but this was cancelled due to the COVID pandemic. Unfortunately, Durham had to withdraw their 2nd team for this season due to a lack of available players.

2018/19 Season
During the 2018/19 season, Durham 1st Team competed in Division 2 North of the Senior County Championships where they played matches against Lanarkshire (lost 7-4), Northumberland (lost 7-4), Lancashire 3 (lost 6-5), Cheshire 2 (won 6-5), Lancashire 2 (lost 6-5), Lothian (lost 8-3) & Cumbria (won 9-2).

2017/18 Season
During the 2017/18 season, Durham 1st Team competed in Division 3 North of the Senior County Championships where they played matches against Lothian 2 (won 10-1), Glasgow & North Scotland 2 (won 11-0), Cumbria (won 8-3), Northumberland 2 (won 11-0), Isle of Man (lost 6-5), Lancashire 3 (lost 6-5) & Cheshire 3 (won 7-4).
The team finished in 2nd position and gained promotion to Division 2 North for the 2018/19 season!

During the 2014/15 season, Durham 1st Team competed in Division 4 North of the Senior County Championships where they played home and away matches against Northumberland 2 (won 12-3 in both matches), Lothian 2 (lost 10-5 & won 9-6), Cumbria (won 8-7 & 9-6) & Yorkshire 5 (won 11-4 & 13-2).
The team finished in 1st position and gained promotion to Division 3 North for the 2015/16 season!
